Port Moody Fire Rescue crews knocked down a structure fire in the 900-block of Garrow Drive on Monday morning.
After a 911 call came in at about 10:30 a.m., the crew arrived in about seven minutes and initially found light smoke outside the building. However, it seems the fire started in the kitchen and race up one of the walls into the attic.

“When they arrived it was fully involved in the attic,” explained Fire Chief Darcey O’Riordan.
Once inside the house, firefighters had to take down some drywall to douse the blaze.
“The crews had pretty much knocked it completely out by the time I arrived,” O’Riordan said.
A total of 22 firefighters were on scene. The fire was struck at about 11:46 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, the blaze is not considered suspicious.
