Burke Mountain cabin fire extinguished

A helicopter was dropping buckets of water on Burke Mountain after a cabin caught fire and threatened to spread to a forested area Wednesday afternoon.
After dark smoke was spotted near the power lines on the southeast slope of the mountain, Coquitlam Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene at about 3 p.m.
While the Coastal Wildfire Service dropped water on the blaze from above, ground crews from Coquitlam and Metro Vancouver worked to contain the fire.
