Police seize drugs and cash following year-and-a-half investigation

Six suspects may be facing charges after a lengthy investigation led to the seizure of crack cocaine and $150,000 in cash.
The operation, which involved targeting several drug traffickers in the Tri-Cities, started in the fall of 2022, according to a release from Coquitlam RCMP.
Between December 2023 and May 2024, police conducted searches in Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, and Surrey, ultimately seizing two ounces of suspected cocaine – another 22 grams was packaged, four ounces of suspected benzodiazepine, and 14 ounces of suspected crack cocaine.

The six suspects have been released as police await approval of charges from the BC Prosecution Service.

“The Coquitlam RCMP is committed to reducing community harm by targeting drug traffickers that prey on the vulnerable for their own personal gain,” stated Coquitlam RCMP Insp. Aaron Lloyd in a release.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
