One man was found shot to death in an underground parkade in the Burquitlam neighbourhood shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, according to a release from the RCMP’s homicide division.
Police identified Gagandeep Sandhu of Abbotsford as the victim. He was 29.
Approximately 15 minutes after Sandhu’s body was found, police were called to Greenwood Street and Bainbridge Avenue in Burnaby where a black Honda Pilot was in flames.

While the motive remains unclear, “initial evidence suggests this was a targeted shooting,” according to a release from the RCMP’s homicide division.
“We’re asking any witnesses or anyone with dash-camera video who was in either area, to please come forward,” stated RCMP Integrated Homicide Investigation Team Sgt. Timothy Pierotti in a release.
Anyone who has dashcam or other footage of the area around the 3400-block of North Road or Greenwood and Bainbridge between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Saturday is asked to call police at 1-877-551-4448 or to email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
